Corton-Hyde Early Music Prize
On 9th June 2026, the Zaska String Quartet won the Corton-Hyde Early Music Prize, taking place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and judged by Heidi Fardell. For their entry, the quartet played Jenkins Fantasia No. 5 for 4 Viols and Telemann Quartet in G Major TWV 43:G5. This performance was completed on period instruments.
Recital at St. Peter’s Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton
The Zaska String Quartet delivered a public recital at St. Peter’s Collegiate Church in Wolverhampton on 5th June 2026. For this recital, the quartet combined their classical repertoire with their period Baroque music. The main feature of the recital was Mendelssohn String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, with an introduction of Telemann Quartet in G Major TWV 43:G5. This concert was played on modern instruments.
Recital at St. Alphege’s Church, Solihull
St. Alphege’s Church, Solihull have welcomed the Zaska String Quartet twice, most recently on 11th February 2026. The quartet played a large variety of repertoire for this recital, including a selection of hymns, Contrapunctus II, V and XII Rectus from Bach The Art of Fugue, Janitsch Sonata da Camera in G minor and Telemann Quartet in G Major TWV 43:G5. Both recitals that the quartet have done at St. Alphege’s have been on period Baroque instruments.
